it has been quite a while since i last had an entry.. well.. over the past month, quite a lot of unhappy events had happened.. i will not go into details as i do not like talking abt bad things that had happened, it just make me feel bad..
ok, last month was quite a relax week as it was cny, therefore, i got lotsa rest from work.. which was good.. but i think i deserve a even longer break.. anyway.. cny was all abt gambling and eating.. i guess it was great fun to gamble but of cos, now that cny is over, i think i gotta have more self control and restrain myself from getting hooked on..
talking abt work, i have almost given up the control of my platoon to my understudy, but still, im trying to see that im able to let my understudy have a smooth taking over.. i think my understudy feels that sometime im very strict and not understanding to the guys.. i do not blame him.. because everyone got their reasons of doing things and not all follow the same way..
take valentines' day for an example, i did not let my guys go off and celebrate with their love ones.. im not being sadist by holdng them back but when i ask myself wat have they done to deserve this recognition and understanding? none.. as a commander, i feel that it is important that the guys know wat is the difference between privilege and entitlement.. they must learn that welfare will only come after hard work, it will nv work the other way round for them.. i think being their commander, it is important to cultivate this culture into them early in their lives.. maybe they do not understand now.. but i hope they will in the near future..
