it has been a pretty long time since i last felt so satisfied with my work.. a pat on the shoulder occasionally is a good encouragement..

anyway.. finally managed to talk to my platoon.. well.. not as a whole but i conducted 1 on 1 interviews with them.. its nice speaking to my man and knowing their concerns and wat they're thinking..

since i had commissioned on 10th june as an officer.. i always wanted to let my man enjoy ns life and to make full use of it.. my vision is for them to cherish the time here and to never forget the moments.. when someone get enlisted.. normally they will feel that its a waste of their 2 yrs.. but i hope to be the one that will be able to change their thinking when they leave.. i know im being a little too ambitious.. but thats my aim, my target.. i will do wat i can to make it a positive army experience... ;)

cheers!

it has been almost 2 weeks since i took over as the platoon commander.. i seems to spend everyday in conference room having meeting after meeting.. it just doesnt end.. and then at the end of the day we will have a co-org in our company line to tok abt internal stuff, such as training... it is so damn boring! so it usually eat up our dinner time.. and also destroy plans for the evening..

most of the meetings i attended includes ppl wif the minimal rank of a captain.. i look so damn stupid in the conference room with them.. but no choice.. i was instructed to attend those meetings by my boss..

but well.. in a positive view.. those meetings widen the knowledge that i once had.. i had a better understanding of the direction that the army is moving towards and it leave room for a lot more imagination.. although most of the time i couldnt catch wat they are trying to say.. but i try my best to listen and to ask after the meetings..

other than meetings.. there are still other things in the company for mi to worry about.. especially the morale of the platoon.. because of the many changes.. the morale of the company is affected tremendously.. and seriously im really worried and not very optimistic.. but no doubt i will do my best in lifting morale but it is not a simple job...

with many events coming up soon.. i can foresee that i will be quite stress up over august.. which is bad bad news.. becos its my bday! hahaha! just knew on friday that there will be some form of testing on 10th - 11th aug.. but din really feel the pinch.. well trained for it.. over the last 2 bday.. its either i stayed home and do nothing or im at bmtc sch 2 celebrating wif my bed! hahaha!

till then~!

it has been more than a month since i last blogged! so much happened during this period..

i will start from 2nd june.. Army Certificate Presentation Ceremony (ACPC).. it was the day i officially received the certificate of appointment as an SAF officer and the officer's sword.. it was followed by a dining-in at SAFTI Military Institute's cookhouse! the food (appetizer and BREAD) was alright except for the steak.. it was SHIT~!

but still.. it was a good day for mi.. the sword with my name craved on it look so beautiful! the day could have been better if i was allowed to book out on that day.. i almost wanted to slp hugging my sword!

commissioning parade rehearsal resumed the next day..

parade rehearsal went on and on.. the School Sergeant Major (SSM) continued calling us swine, cicada.... saying that we're suffering from "saicosis". (our head is flooded with shit and it is overflowing) but i think SSM is a nice guy.. tough but kind.. haha

i finally commissioned on the 10th of june 2006 as an SAF signal officer! even though we trained real hard for the parade.. it was real SHIT! the drills were screwed up.. people remembering the wrong sequence of the parade.. the slow march was outta timing.. it was simply terrible!

but still it was one of the greatest night in my life.. after 9 months of training.. i finally got the bar on my shoulder.. the night embarked a new chapter in my life.. the transition was quick when suddenly someone called u "SIR" straight after the parade..

the first day of officership in stagmont camp was awful! haha! with that black bar on the shoulder.. it gets kinda uncomfortable when u start doing the wrong things.. but it also gave u power in like.. maybe visiting the canteen during ur freetime? haha

got saluted the first time at the training hub of stagmont camp by a corporal.. haha! if u ask mi.. it felt great.. i felt like im king! hahaha!

spent the next couple of weeks in stagmont doing some troubleshooting course.. finally got to jurong camp on the 21st june 06..

my first day in 3 signal battalion was spent cleaning up a real dusty room.. and those posted to 3 signal with me wasnt those that im really close with.. and it happens that i kinda dislike some of them.. i think it is because of our different working method..

anyway.. unit induction program (uip) sucks to core because we still have to walk in steps to everywhere we go.. we have to ask permission to go to the emart.. its so damn stupid..

but every sucky thing has an end to it.. just last monday.. we got our long-waited turn out.. running up and down doing change-parade.. meaning changing into different kinda attire.. running around the parade square dunno how many times.. taking out and putting in our field pack items in 1 minute in/out.. doing approval of plans.. that was for the morning part..

in the afternoon.. the uip officers played a soccer game against the other officers in 3 signal battlion.. and we manged to win the game 4-2! eventhough we were freaking shag.. eventhough we had only freaking 11 officers.. and everyone have to be involved.. we pull through against the odds and made it! haha!

in the evening.. it was my officer mess initiation.. i became miss cecilia lim, the miss saf 2006.. wearing terrible lipstick and 2 plastic BREAST, with a terribly ugly looking pink hairband! i dun even dare to look at myself on the mirror.. but i know i looked horribly SEXY! hahaha! i danced with sathest, the bollywood star.. sexy indian dance.. shaked my butt to the max! sang a little of "come what may".. and got proposed to by 2 horny homosexuals! haha!

anyway.. it was down to drinking again for the mess initiation... drank a few cans and a few mug.. a few + a few = a lot.. got really high after it.. finally got my appointment after all the drinking.. puked inside the mess and sorry eng koon have gotta clear the mess because he was the only one that din drink and was really sober after so many cans of COKE.. opps! hahaha!

woke up the next day feeling shitty and giddy.. no longer an uip officer.. im reborn!

but after the actual appointmet.. now i know that being an officer is not the end of all shit.. it was the beginning.. nothing had ended.. the fire had just got bigger.. but im ready! TO LEAD! TO EXCEL! TO OVERCOME!
